- I am being prompted to download or open a file. Is this safe?

- Will URH give me a computer virus?
How do I listen?
Choose the appropriate speed (high speed if you are on DSL, cable, or lan; low speed if you are on dial-up), and click the link.
Do I need to download software?
You shouldn’t need to. Your computer should already have a program that will play our stream. Some common mp3 media players are: Windows Media Player, Winamp, Music Match, and iTunes.
I am being prompted to download or open a file. Is this safe?
Your browser is just trying to figure out what to do with our stream. You should ALWAYS click “open” when you are trying to listen to the URH stream. This will launch your default media player and begin playing the stream.
Which link do I click?
If you are on a high speed connection, such as a DSL or cable connection, click high speed. If you connect via dial-up, click low speed. If you are not sure how you connect to the internet, visit this download speed site and click the “start” button. If your results show that you are over 56 kilobits per second, you are on a high speed connection.
I am not hearing anything.
First, let’s cover the basics:
- Your speakers are turned on
- Your computer’s sound level is not muted
- Your program (ie Windows Media Player) is not muted
If these are all OK, check your player for error messages. If you still cannot connect, our staff will be happy to assist. Please visit our contact page for a list of staff members who can help.
Will URH give me a virus?
No. URH simply transmits an mp3 stream. If you received a virus, it was not from us.
