Last Weeks Dirty Laundry~~~

This weekend a raging 80’s theme party took Hilo party goers back a few decades with bright colors, leg warmers and you guessed it BIG hair! Guest all agreed that for a sleepy little town like Hilo going back in time was just what was needed to liven things up! The guest list included some of Hilo’s A-list figures most dressed to impress in 80’s glamor, only a few duds showed up sans retro garb but, in true Aloha spirit they were not turned away.

On the party note, the Lehua Jaycees hosted a pretty happening event this past week and it wasn’t just for a night. The Springfest was a good fun event for the families here on the Big I.
From the edge of your seat performance of the Cirque acts to the whiplash giving, hip-crushing Sizzler to the big sticky webs of cotton candy, it was a good time for everyone. URH even had some of our very own performing in various bands like Dog Pile and the Geckos.
Only downfall, the pricing, $6 for one ride, $2 to throw 1 ball… not the small town carnival feeling anymore is it?

And last but not least, Ocean Day
Held this Saturday at the Pacific Aquaculture and Coastal Resource Center, it was a day full of hands on wet and wild learning and fun! A multitude of booths, games, touch tanks and activities offered something for kids and parents alike. Another successful day spreading knowledge and malama for the ocean!! Hats off to everyone who made the day such a success!!!!!!

Cheers!
